Completed HTI equipment rack, Control4 controllers, network switches, amplifiers and structured cabling in a home technology cabinet

Control4 Controllers & Racks

The part of the house nobody should ever need to open.

Controllers, network switching, amplification, video distribution and clean power live together in one ventilated, labelled rack, built off site, commissioned on site, monitored remotely.

The idea

Central equipment, deliberately boring.

A good rack is quiet, cool, labelled and serviceable. It is the difference between a fault taking ten minutes and taking a day.

We size the rack for what the home has now and what it will reasonably add later, then document every port and circuit in it.

Controllers

The brain, sized to the house.

Control4 controllers hold the programming that ties every manufacturer's system into one home.

  • Controller selected for the number of rooms, sources and integrations.
  • Programming and configuration backed up after every visit.
  • Room for additional systems without replacing the platform.

Distribution

Audio, video and network in one place.

Amplifiers, matrix video switching and managed Araknis or Ubiquiti networking racked together and cooled properly.

  • Multi-zone amplification for architectural speakers.
  • 4K HDCP 2.2 video distribution to every television.
  • Managed switching with power over Ethernet for screens, cameras and access points.
  • Clean power, surge protection and remote reboot where appropriate.

Serviceable

Labelled, documented, monitored.

Every cable is labelled at both ends and every port recorded, so future work does not begin with guesswork.

  • As-built documentation handed over with the home.
  • Remote monitoring so most faults are seen before you notice them.
  • Ventilation and cable management that keep equipment cool and quiet.
