The idea

Most homes end up with a drawer of remotes and half a dozen apps. Integration replaces all of it with one considered interface: a keypad by the door, a touchscreen in the kitchen, a remote in the media room, your phone anywhere else, all controlling the same house.
We work on new builds, renovations, upgrades and inherited systems across Sydney, from the earliest architectural drawings through to the day you move in, and for the years after that.

- Arrive, gate and garage open, entry and path lighting rise, alarm disarms, favourite music follows you in.
- Watch, blinds close, lights fall to a low wash, the screen and audio wake in the right mode.
- Goodnight, the house checks itself, locks, arms and dims to a soft path to bed.
- Wake, curtains open gently, climate lifts to your preferred temperature, news or music starts quietly.
- Away, lights, climate and shading pull back to standby while security keeps watching.

New build, renovation or a system you inherited.
Each starting point needs a different approach, and all three are ordinary work for us.
- New builds, we join at design stage, document the infrastructure and coordinate with your architect, builder and electrician.
- Renovations, we plan around what can and cannot be opened up, using wired paths where they exist and reliable wireless where they do not.
- Inherited systems, we take on Control4 systems installed by others: assess, document, repair, update and extend.

Questions
What homeowners ask us
- What does a home automation project with HTI actually involve?
- It runs in stages: a brief and site or plan review, a design with documentation (device positions, cable schedules, rack layout and keypad engraving), coordination with your builder and electrician during the build, then installation, programming and commissioning in the finished rooms. We finish with a handover to the household and ongoing support.
- When should we involve a smart home installer on a new build?
- As early as the design stage, ideally while the architect's drawings are still moving. Cable routes, rack location, keypad positions and ceiling speakers are far easier and less costly to resolve on plan than after plastering.
- How do you work with our architect, builder and electrician?
- We provide documentation each trade can work from and coordinate with the builder, electrician, joiner and lighting designer so infrastructure is in place before walls close. On the Double Bay project, for example, we worked alongside Konk Electrical with the lighting package coordinated between the two teams.
- Can different brands and systems really work together?
- Usually, yes. Control4 is designed to tie lighting, climate, audio, video, shading, intercom, cameras, alarm and locks from different manufacturers into one interface. Compatibility is confirmed per device during design rather than assumed.
- Can you automate a house we already live in?
- Yes. In an existing home we plan around what can be opened up, use wired paths where they exist and reliable wireless where they do not, and often stage the work room by room.
- What happens after handover?
- The same team that designed and programmed the system supports it: changes as your routines evolve, updates, system backups and fault-finding, with ongoing care available through our support plans.
